Do you think funding schools based on ranking helps or hinders public education?

Florida's overall public school rating plummeted from 6th in 2013 to 28th as reported in 2015. Standardized testing and school" grading" is used to determine if that school will be funded more or less

Should standardized testing be used in schools & for a teacher's evaluation?

It has been documented that standardized testing stresses students, parents opt their kids out, Pearson has given tests with errors, teachers evaluations and salaries are linked to these useless tests

We live in a society that requires a college degree to earn a living wage, jobs that require more time from parents, and we have fallen behind in our societal investments to the future generation.

Would you consider creating a federally funded online university?

Student debt is over a trillion dollars. Would force cost coinstraints within the competitive and very profitable education industry. Could target critical needs within the government to justify cost

Pearson was paid $250 million over four years. Education has become big business thanks to No Child Left Behind, Race to the Top, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Will you repeal the excess credit surcharge for public University students

The act forces public Florida universities to raise tuition 50% when a student exceeds 120 credit. This does not allow students to take more broad courses and explore different opportunitie.

Will you push to re-establish the pre 2007 FL Prepaid College plans?

In 2006 a four year university plan including tuition and fees bought for our newborn was under $15,000. In 2007 it was over $40,000 and still growing subsiquently we could not enroll or 2nd child.

Integrating schools along socioeconomic and racial lines, based on programs like those in Cambridge, Eden Prairie, and New York, would improve outcomes for all students.

Would you support putting civics back in the high school curriculum?

Due to how much the political parties have lied to the students in our colleges in the last 8 yrs, it just makes sense to put civics back into the curriculum of our schools to educate the citizens.
