Why do you think black Americans make up 35% of the prison population?

African-American people make up 13% of the total population but they make up 35% of the prison population. That is significantly higher than what should be expected if all things are fair.

Do you support a more expansive welfare program like AFDC?

In 1996 Bill Clinton signed a welfare reform bill that replaced Aid to Families with Dependent Children with a more restrictive program. Proponents of welfare say that this has deepened poverty.

What is your opinion on Florida's stand your ground law?

Murders have increased significantly soon after this law was enacted, so much so, that it is reasonable to state that the law was not correlated with the increase but rather a cause of it.

What will you do to ensure that poor Floridians & others can afford healthcare?

Currently Florida is one of 19 states to not expand Medicaid which would allow low income/poor citizens to purchase affordable (subsidized) healthcare. AKA close the Medicaid gap.
